Admission Rules

Generally Admission into +3 Degree Classes is to be made through E-Admission under student Academic Management System (SAMS) in all Degree Colleges in the State of Odisha.

Important Notes:-

  1. e-Admission (ON-LINE ADMISSION INTO DEGREE CLASSES) is compulsory in all Degree Colleges in the State of Odisha.
  2. The On-Line Common Application form is available on the website and can be accessed at any place where Internet facility is available. Please read the common prospectus carefully the ON-LINE Common Application Form.
  3. The passed Outs of CHSE Odisha need not enter their marks. They have to enter their examination roll numbers. Once the roll number is entered, their marks will be reflected on the screen. They have to verify the correctness and if they find any discrepancy in the automatically entered marks, they can mannually make necessary correction.
  4. An applicant can exercise for a maximum of TEN option for +3 in a CAF. If an applicant submits more than one CAF at SRC, then any one of the CASs will be rejected automatically. Only the computer (Net) generated CAF with Barcode shall be accepted. In no case a DTP or Type CAF shall be accepted.
  5. Mere applying On-Line CAF in the Internet will not be sufficient for e-Admission. An applicant has to take print out of “College Copy” and “Applicant Copy” of the filled in CAF and both the copies of CAF with relevant documents along with required fees are to be deposited at the nearest SAMS Centre.
  6. Students who take admission against lower options in the 1st selection and want to continue in that college, have to give an undertaking in a form (Annexure-7), So that their cases shall not be considered for sliding up during the 2nd selection. If they do not do so at the time of admission, it may be possible that their names would be slid up to their higher options and removed from the 1st selection college.
  7. Intimation letter of the selected applicants will be transmitted through five modes (i) SMS (if mobile number is provided in CAF (ii) e-Mail (if e-mail ID is provided in CAF) (iii) Website ( (iv) College Notice Board (Applied and selected college) (v) Toll free number-155335). Intimation will not be sent through post.
  8. The normal admission will be closed in five stages : (i) First Selection Admission (ii) Second Selection (iii) ST/SC Extension Admission (iv) Balance Seat (Spot) Admission (For residual seats) (v) Admission after supplementary.Instant results publication.
  9. Documents to be produced at the time of admission by the selected candidates:

(a) Original C.L.C.

(b) Original Marksheet

(c) Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the institution last attended.

(d) Original/Provisinal Certificate for private candidates.

(e) 4 Passport size attested Photo copies.

(f) Other original certificate or document for claim of stipend, reservation benefit or additional weightage of marks.

Note : Failure to take admission on the intimated date results forfeiture of seat alloted to an application. Extension of date of admission is not allowed under any circumstance.

Reservation of Seats Under State Categories:

There are some seats as mentioned below reserved for women/SC/ST/Physical Handicappeds/Son/Daughter of Green Card holders/Defence personels as per the Govt. directives from time to time.

1. For S.C. Candidate 15%

2. For S.T. Candidate 23%

3. For Children of Green Card Holder 5%

4. For Children of Defence Personnel 5%

5. For physically Handicapped Candidate 3%

N.B. (i) Candidates Claiming admission under the reserved catatories has to produce relevant certificates from competent authority.

(ii) Above mentioned percentage of seats under different catagories is subject to change by the order of the competent authority.

Guidelines for Admission

(i) Admission  to the college is purely provisional and shall be done on merit basis.
(ii) Conduct of the candidates shall be important factor in deciding the prayer for admission to the college. 
(iii) Admission to the college can not be claimed as a matter of right.
(iv) The decision of the principal regarding matter pertaining to admission shall be binding and final.
(v) Additional weightage of marks shall be given to different group of candidates in following manner after production of relevant documents – (i) N.C.C. ‘A’ Certificate 2% (ii) N.C.C. ‘B’ Certificate 3% (iii) N.C.C. ‘C’ Certificate 5% (iv) President’s Certificatate for scouts and guides 10% (v) Orthopedically Handicapped 5% (vi) Sports personality 5% (vii) Women 5%.
(vi) Additional weightage of marks shall be considered on aggreegate mark of last qualifying examination without marks secured in extra optional subjects. Candidates once failed in last qualifying examination shall not avail the additional weightage of mark.
(vii) Reservation or weightage is applicable only for admission classes but not for selection of Honours subjects.

Principles for Selection of Hons.

1. Selection for admission to Honours classes will be made on the basis of aggregate marks plus marks in the subject as per the Govt. rule.
2. For Botany and Zoology Honours, Biology marks will be considered.
3. In case of candidates for Odia Honours who had neither Sanskrit nor Odia as an optional subjcet at the Higher Secondary Stage, their aggregate mark plus two times marks in M.I.L. (O) will be considered.
4. For Physics Honours, aggregate marks plus marks in Physics and mathematics will be the basis for selection.
5. For commerce Honours, aggregate marks plus marks in commerce subject on the basis of 200 as full marks shall be considered.
6. In case of two students securing the same marks (aggregate and subject) preference will be given to the students securing higher marks in subjcet.
